Job summary

Penn Medicine in Lancaster, PA, is seeking a qualified Medical Assistant to provide clinical support in a provider office. Under supervision of a provider or licensed nurse, you will assist with patient rooming, injections, med administration, and point-of-care testing.

This role requires BLS, Nationally Registered CMA, HS diploma, and at least 1 year of MA experience in primary or specialty care. Travel to regional sites may be needed; a supportive team and opportunities for growth are provided.

Qualifications

• Must have Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR) certification.
• Must be Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant.
• 1+ year MA experience in a primary or specialty care physician’s office.
• H.S. Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for visit using rooming standards tool.
• Administers injections, as prescribed by provider and in accordance with practice protocol.
• Prepares and administers medications as prescribed by the provider and in accordance with federal and state regulations.
• Assists with procedures, minor surgeries and other exams as designated by the provider.
• Performs Point of Care Testing (hearing, flu, urine, strep).
• Removes sutures and changes dressings on wounds as necessary.
• Provides clinical advice by phone/electronic correspondence per triage protocols.
• Authorizes prescription refills as directed by the provider.
• Assists in test tracking and overdue results.
• Maintains and cleans exam rooms and instruments after procedures.
• Assists with outreach for preventive and chronic disease services.
• Performs care coordination and referrals as needed.
• Participates in daily huddles and patient experience initiatives.
