Job summary

Kidney & Hypertension Clinic of Alaska in Anchorage, AK seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to greet patients, manage calls, verify insurance, and support front-desk operations. You will handle patient records, check-in procedures, and appointment confirmations while maintaining a courteous, confidential environment.

Three years in direct patient care preferred; CMA certification or willingness to certify within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Must be currently certified (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, CMAA) or willing to certify within 6 months.
• Three years’ experience in direct patient care.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous manner.
• Answer telephone, screen and direct calls, take messages and provide information.
• Review forms for completion and signatures; verify/update information in medical records.
• Check in patients; obtain copies of ID and insurance cards; take patient photo.
• Maintain lobby area, stock pamphlets, and ensure daily documentation in charts.
• Confirm appointments and ensure calls are returned by EOD; document details in patient chart.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance; follow OSHA guidelines.
