Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support outpatient clinic operations under RN supervision. You will perform multi-skilled tasks, take vital signs, prepare exam rooms and document results in the patient record.

You will assist physicians, manage patient flow, maintain supplies, and educate patients on treatment plans. CMA I/II credentials and BLS are required, with a commitment to safe, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program.
• One (1) year of patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures calibration, cleaning and maintenance of clinical/lab equipment.
• Maintains and reviews patient records and communicates plan of care.
• Maintains exam room supplies and cleanliness of patient care environment.
• Manages scheduling, patient flow and referrals; educates patients about diagnosis and treatment.
• Triage calls, instructs patients on treatments, and assists with exams and procedures.
