Job summary

Baton-Rouge-Genera is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support physicians in coordinating patient care in a busy Baton Rouge clinic.

The role requires 1–2 years of clinic experience, current Medical Assistant Certification, and preferred completion of an MA program. You will assist with patient intake, data collection, charting, phlebotomy, and medication administration while ensuring HIPAA compliance and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years in the clinic setting is required.
• Preferred: High School Diploma or GED and completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Current Medical Assistant Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician in coordinating care and data collection for age-appropriate patients.
• Perform basic physical assessments and document vital signs and history accurately.
• Administer medications as ordered and perform treatments per physician instructions.
• Perform phlebotomy and other independently ordered procedures with proper technique.
• Answer and triage patient care related calls and route to physician as needed.
• Maintain patient records and assist with clinic data management and billing as required.
