Pardee UNC Health Care is seeking a Medical Assistant / Customer Service Rep to support physicians, register patients, and coordinate clinic visits across UNC HealthCare network offices. The role requires updating EMR scheduling, collecting patient histories, and assisting with procedures while floating to multiple sites within the network.

Qualifications

• Must hold Current Medical Assistant Certification (AAMA CMA, AMT RMA, NHA CCMA or NCCT NCMA).
• Active Driver’s License and access to transportation
• BLS certification.

Responsabilités

• Communicates with patients and clinical staff to coordinate and schedule clinical visits across a wide range of clinical resources.
• Reviews and interprets incoming clinical orders delivered by phone and fax. Inputs orders into EMR scheduling system. Reviews queues to guide outreach.
• Interviews patients to collect and document history of present illness (HPI), med reconciliation, allergies; inputs history and demographic data into EMR.
• Performs vital sign measurement and any standard testing per clinic procedures
• Coordinates and performs follow‑on procedures as directed by a provider (onsite testing, specimen collection, wound care).
• Assists with provider‑performed procedures (suture application, splints). Collects and prepares testing specimens for transport to offsite labs; documents care in EMR.
• Communicates with patients about care; notifies patients of test results; explains policies with cultural competency and active listening.
• Maintains supplies and medicines for safe clinical operations; upholds infection control standards.
