Job summary

Tanner Health System in Carrollton, GA seeks a Medical Assistant to support the physician and daily clinic operations. You will perform patient assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation, assist with injections, phlebotomy, and basic lab tasks, and ensure high-quality patient care.

Requires CMA/CCMA/RMA/NCMA/CMAC certification or MA training, High School diploma, CPR, and at least 3 months related experience; BLS within 90 days; travel to all Tanner locations.

Qualifications

• Must be capable of dealing tactfully and effectively with patients, family members, other employees, and physicians.
• Certification CMA (AAMA), CCMA (NHA), RMA (AMT), NCMA (NCCT), or CMAC (AMCA) accepted.
• Must understand patient medical records, physician orders, and medical orders communicated to patient and hospital.
• Must adhere to clinical standards with disciplined approach.
• Prior experience in performing x-rays and EKG preferred.
• Six months experience preferred.
• BLS certification within 90 days.
• Requires travel to all Tanner Medical Group Locations.
• MA certification by AAMA or Registered Medical Assistant by AMT (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Participate in patient satisfaction initiatives and maintain excellent customer service.
• Update medication histories, allergies, chief complaints, and problem lists.
• Assure safe patient flow and assist with examinations, treatments, or procedures.
• Administer injections, perform phlebotomy and basic lab tasks.
• Explain medications and treatment plans to patients and document communications.
