Job summary

Tanner Health System in Georgia is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to render clinical care under physician direction and assist in daily office operations to ensure quality patient care. Responsibilities include patient assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation as part of the clinical team.

The ideal candidate will hold CMA/CCMA or NCMA Certification, have a High School diploma, 3 months of related experience (6 months preferred), and be willing to travel to Tanner Medical Group

Qualifications

• Must be capable of dealing tactfully and effectively with patients, family members, other employees, and physicians.
• Certified Medical Assistant by CMA (AAMA) or Registered Medical Assistant by AMT; NCCT/NAHP/NHA accepted.
• BLS within 90 days; travel to all Tanner Medical Group locations.
• Prior experience in performing x-rays and EKG preferred; six months experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care under physician direction including patient assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation.
• Assist in day-to-day office operations to ensure quality patient care and service recovery.
• Greet patients, obtain histories, prepare for examinations, and assist during procedures.
• Explain medications and treatments, document communications, and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Maintain equipment knowledge and support safety programs; work as part of a collaborative team.
