Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in San Marcos, TX is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support patient care with accurate data entry, insurance verification, and professional communication with patients, families, and providers.

The ideal candidate will have CMA certification, BLS, and about 1 year of medical office experience; High School diploma preferred. This full-time role follows a regular 8 AM–5 PM schedule.

Qualifications

• CMA certification is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• 1 year of medical office experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self/Others/Leaders.
• Assisting physicians, nurse practitioners, and PAs in giving superior medical care.
• Accurate data entry of charges on patient accounts, registering patients, and updating accounts.
• Insurance verification and recording of statistics.
• Assist with scheduling patient appointments, answering phones, keeping providers informed of changes, and informing patients of benefits.
• Other duties as assigned.
