Job summary

Prisma Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the Gastroenterology team in Richland, SC. You will assist physicians with exams, procedures and patient education, and handle clerical tasks such as patient registration and scheduling.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, recording vital signs, managing specimens, and ensuring accurate documentation in the medical record. Training and competency will be provided to meet facility standards.

Qualifications

• Completion of a medical assistant training program as required by the facility.
• Certification in CMA, RMA, CCMA or equivalent per state requirements.
• Experience is not required; training and competency are provided.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology and patient privacy regulations.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical, technical, administrative and clerical duties under physician supervision.
• Receives and reports critical lab values and documents in medical records.
• Prepares patients for examination and treatment; records vital signs, chief complaints and medications.
