Job summary

Palm Primary Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians in a busy primary care office. The MA will perform both clinical and administrative duties to ensure smooth patient flow, accurate documentation, and adherence to HIPAA and managed care policies.

Responsibilities include exam room setup, patient transport, vital signs, injections, EKGs, phlebotomy, lab processing, and efficient communication with patients and providers.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year work experience as a Certified Medical Assistant.
• Phlebotomy, EKG and PFT experience preferred.
• Vital signs: 1 year experience; EMR/EHR knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and maintain cleanliness for patient visits.
• Document vital signs and medical history in the EHR.
• Assist providers with examinations and procedures.
• Administer injections under supervision and per policy.
• Perform EKGs, vision tests and basic screenings.
• Process lab specimens and ensure proper labeling.
• Maintain accurate charting and pre-charting.
• Coordinate follow-ups, referrals, and test results.
• Educate patients on chronic disease management and prevention.
• Handle check-in/out, calls, messages with complete details.
