Job Summary

Provide direct and indirect patient care at Duke Orthopaedic Clinic in Apex, NC.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, take histories, chart, answer calls, complete forms.
• Prepare clinics, obtain test results, update charts, verify insurance, obtain authorizations, coordinate referrals and appointments.
• Maintain cleanliness and supplies in exam rooms, ensure safety by checking for expired items, and dispose of sharps properly.
• Promote patient rights, respond to emergencies, adhere to HR, Compliance, and Joint Commission policies.
• Perform state-specific duties such as vital signs, suture removal, dressing changes, entering orders, blood draws, and applying DME.
• Develop skills in cast removal and application of splints and casts, and accurately fit DME products.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or medical assisting diploma from an accredited institution.
• Preferred: 1 year of clinic experience.
• Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA, or ARMA required.

Work Hours

Day shift, Monday-Friday.
