Job summary

ScionHealth is seeking a CMA-certified clinical assistant to support physicians and nurses in an outpatient clinic setting. You will room patients, take vitals, perform EKGs, and assist with procedures under physician supervision.

The role includes vaccines, wound care, specimen collection, medication administration, and coordinating care and insurance, while maintaining EMR accuracy and adherence to OSHA/HIPAA standards.

Qualifications

• Postsecondary medical assistant program from an accredited school (preferred).
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA CMA, CCMA or RMA upon hire (required).
• BCLS certification required upon hire or within facility-specified time frame.
• 1+ year experience in outpatient or physician practice setting (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist in rooming patients, taking vitals, performing EKGs, and assisting in office-based procedures under physician supervision.
• Conduct clinical procedures such as vaccine administration, wound care, and specimen collection.
• Prepare and administer medications under physician direction per certification guidelines.
• Coordinate care, verify insurance, obtain prior authorizations, and educate patients.
• Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot clinical equipment; ensure EMR accuracy.
