Job summary

UNC Health Primary Care at Kenly is seeking a Medical Assistant I, Certified to join the outpatient clinic team. You will provide routine clinical and administrative support under clinical supervision and help ensure efficient patient flow and safety.

The role involves rooming, vital signs, medication administration under supervision, phlebotomy, specimen processing and EMR documentation, along with front-d desk tasks and scheduling responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program is strongly preferred but not required.
• MA certification from AAMA/AMT/CCMA/NRCMA/NCMA is required or preferred.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC is required.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and collecting vital signs, height, weight, and visit data.
• Collecting and reviewing patient medical and social history.
• Assist the provider during treatments and procedures as directed.
• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection.
• Administer medications under provider direction.
• Prepare, stock, and sterilize exam rooms and instruments.
• Assist with patient registration, check-in/out, scheduling, and referrals.
