JOB HOURS

The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Medical Assistant, Certified to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Perform intake with patients, including vital signs, visit information, and other clinical data as indicated.
  2. Handle telephone messages with patients, document encounters, follow clinic protocols, and inform providers.
  3. Administer medications to patients as ordered by providers or following established protocols, adhering to the six rights of medication administration.
  4. Participate in performance improvement projects.
  5. Prepare for clinical procedures, perform high-level disinfection & sterilization, or other tasks within scope of practice.
  6. Obtain prior authorizations for medications and durable medical equipment as needed.
  7. Float within the clinic to support patient and provider needs as delegated by supervisors.
  8. Assist with scheduling patients for surgery, post-case documentation, and pend orders for COVID testing prior to surgery.
  9. Schedule follow-up and return appointments as needed.

JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Level I: Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is strongly preferred.
  • Level II: Graduation from a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Medical Assistant program is strongly preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Level II: At least 1 year of clinical experience as a Certified Medical Assistant.
  • Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA, or ARMA required.
  • BLS certification required.
