Job summary

Texas Oncology in Dallas is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant to support the Dallas location. Typical hours are Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:00pm. Responsibilities include assisting physicians, managing patient flow, phlebotomy support, and administrative tasks in an oncology clinic.

Levels 1, 2 or Sr based on experience; LTIP incentive program and a comprehensive benefits package are offered, including wellness and tuition reimbursement options.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants preferred.
• Entry level position with 0-3 years experience for Level 1; 3+ years for Level 2; 5+ years for Level Sr.
• BCLS certification within 3 months of hire; CPR certification for Sr level.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Record vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
• Obtain necessary patient records prior to treatment.
• Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies.
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures.
• Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as delegated.
• Maintain disinfection protocols for exam/treatment rooms.
• Answer patient calls and refer to physician or nurse/pharmacist.
• Enter orders under a provider's direction.
• Perform other administrative duties as requested.

Skills

BCLS certification

Phlebotomy experience

Certified Medical Assistant preferred

Education

High school graduate or equivalent

Certificate of graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
