The role you’ll contribute:

The Medical Assistant provides appropriate care to patients within the scope of Florida Statutes Title XXXII: Regulations of Professionals and Occupations. Chapter 458. Medical Assistants assist in various aspects of medical practice until the direct supervisor and responsibility of a physician. Responsibilities may include patient care management, administrative and clinical procedures. In all practice endeavors, the Medical Assistant will adhere to ethical and professional practice.

  • Reviews appointment bookings in advance and ensures patients receive appointment reminders.
  • Verify and validate insurance prior to appointment date.
  • Completes check-in process, securing copays and balance amounts.
  • Verifies consent forms are completed and up to date.
  • Maintains timely flow of patients and keeps patients up to date of any delays.
  • Responds to and returns incoming telephone calls in a timely manner.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • BLS Certification (condition of employment)
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant certification from an AdventHealth approved certified body.
