Schedule: Full Time

Shift: Days M-F 8-5p or 8:30-5:30p

Location: 18923 STATE RD 54, Lutz, 33558, with travel to Wesley Chapel location 2700 Healing Way, 50% of the time

The role you’ll contribute:

The Medical Assistant provides appropriate care to patients within the scope of Florida Statutes Title XXXII: Regulations of Professionals and Occupations, Chapter 458. Medical Assistants assist in various aspects of medical practice under the supervision of a physician. Responsibilities may include patient care management, administrative, and clinical procedures. In all practice endeavors, the Medical Assistant will adhere to ethical and professional standards.

• Reviews appointment bookings in advance and ensures patients receive appointment reminders
• Verifies and validates insurance prior to appointment date
• Completes check-in process, securing copays and balance amounts
• Verifies consent forms are completed and up to date
• Maintains a timely flow of patients and keeps patients informed of any delays
• Responds to and returns incoming telephone calls promptly

Qualifications

The expertise and experience you’ll need to succeed:

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
• BLS Certification (condition of employment)
• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant certification from an AdventHealth-approved certifying body
