Job Summary

2 shifts available:

1. M 11:30am-8pm, Tu 7:45am-5pm, W 7:45am-5pm, Th 7:45am-5pm, & F 7:45am-2pm
2. M 7:30am-5pm, Tu 6:45am-6pm, W & Th 6:45am-5pm, Fri OFF

The Medical Assistant (MA) is positioned within the healthcare team to gather, screen, communicate, and act based on delegation from a provider, registered nurse, or Licensed Practical Nurse, within the scope of practice.

• The MA performs a combination of clerical and direct patient care duties.
• Clerical responsibilities include greeting patients, answering telephones, scheduling appointments, and updating patients' electronic medical records (EMR).
• Clinical responsibilities include rooming patients, taking medical histories, recording vital signs, preparing exam rooms for procedures, explaining treatment procedures to patients, preparing patients for examinations, facilitating patient flow through the office, and assisting physicians, nurse practitioners, or physician assistants during examinations.

Must be a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant.

Education Requirements

• Completes and maintains all competencies and trainings required for the role.
• High School Diploma, GED, or Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program.

Experience

• No experience required.

Certification and Licensure

• BLS Certification.
• Current Medical Assistant Certification awarded through AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA, NAHP, or NHA. Certifications other than these require THMG Leadership approval.
