Ascension is hiring a Medical Assistant in Baltimore, MD, within the Internal Medicine - Edmondson Village department. The role supports providers during patient examinations, preps treatment rooms, and maintains accurate documentation to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Work Schedule: Days, Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–5:30 pm. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and relevant certifications (BLS and Medical Assistant) are needed within the hire timeline.

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of related job experience.
• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire.
• Medical Assistant certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Direct Patient Support: Assist providers with patient examinations, measure vital signs, and execute ordered treatments and procedures under supervision.
• Clinical & Administrative Flow: Prepare treatment rooms, maintain a clean environment, and manage basic materials ordering and stocking to ensure operational efficiency.
• Accurate Documentation: Interview patients for medical history, accurately chart all information, and precisely transcribe provider orders for lab tests, radiology, and medications.
• Office Management: Handle critical clerical duties, including answering calls and maintaining organized patient records to support a seamless practice flow.

Education

High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of related job experience

BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire
