GEO Corrections & Detentions is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical operations and patient care. You will schedule, welcome, and prepare patients for physician visits, and assist with examinations while maintaining privacy and accuracy of medical records.

The role involves taking vital signs, recording medical history, preparing medications, and handling specimens. Strong communication and computer skills are essential to support daily workflows.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent and Medical Assistant certification.
• Six months related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, and procedures.
• Ability to write routine reports and communicate clearly.
• Ability to work with computers and department software.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments and prepare patients for physician visits.
• Interview patients, record vital signs and medical history.
• Maintain privacy and confidentiality of records.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by physician.
• Collect and prepare blood and specimens for testing.
• Explain treatment procedures and physician instructions to patients.
• Assist physicians and prepare treatment rooms for examinations.
