Responsibilities

• Prepare for patient visits by reviewing charts, labs, tests and updates.

Position Summary

Mass Lung & Allergy is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and patient-focused Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support clinical operations and direct patient care. The CMA works closely with providers and clinical staff to ensure efficient workflow, high-quality care, and a positive patient experience.

This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, flexibility, and a team-oriented mindset. The CMA may travel to multiple MLA locations based on provider schedules and clinic needs. Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (no nights or weekends).

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare for patient visits by reviewing charts, labs, test results, and updates
• Room patients, verify identity, obtain vitals, reconcile medications, and update medical history
• Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during visits as needed
• Educate patients on inhalers, nebulizers, oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and other medical equipment
• Administer immunizations, nebulizer treatments, PPD, and perform spirometry/FENO when applicable
• Order labs, diagnostic imaging, and assist with referrals and procedures
• Perform clinical follow-up including calling patients with results and instructions
• Maintain exam rooms, clean between visits, stock supplies, and monitor equipment
• Assist with triage, sick calls, walk‑ins, and patient flow
• Complete clinical administrative work (DME, prior authorizations, forms, prescriptions, referrals, etc.)
• Support clinic opening/closing procedures including equipment checks and vaccine refrigerator logs
• Assist with emergency response, patient safety, and evacuation procedures when needed
• Provide support across MLA locations and accept floating assignments as required
• Perform general clerical and patient support duties as needed
• Maintain HIPAA compliance, infection control, and safety standards
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support quality patient care and operations
