Job summary

UNC Faculty Physicians’ Family Medicine Carraway Clinic in Chapel Hill seeks a Medical Assistant II, Certified to provide routine clinical and administrative support in an outpatient setting. Under supervision, you will assist providers with examinations, procedures, specimen collection and patient education.

Responsibilities include rooming, data collection, medication reconciliation, phlebotomy, basic tests (EKG, eye exams), and ensuring rooms are stocked and ready for visits.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assisting program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES is strongly preferred but not required.
• Certification as Medical Assistant by AAMA/AMT/NCMA/NCCT is required or encouraged.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Minimum of one year full-time experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified.

Responsibilities

• Perform rooming and intake, collect vitals and visit data.
• Collect medical and social history data from patients and families.
• Assist the provider during treatments and procedures as directed.
• Phlebotomy, specimen collection, and basic testing per supervision.
• Maintain exam/treatment rooms, supplies, and equipment.
