Job summary

MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta, ME is seeking a Medical Assistant II – Certified at the Family Medicine Institute. This 40-hour, daytime role supports both patients and providers to keep visits running smoothly.

You’ll perform clinical and administrative duties, with no nights or weekends, in a team-focused setting that emphasizes patient-first care and work–life balance. Certification and an associate degree in Medical Assisting are required.

Qualifications

• Previous work experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Certification by an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Possession of an associate degree in Medical Assisting from an accredited school.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to balance clinical and administrative responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Assists with collecting statistics and prepares patient for visit and medical staff.
• Prepare patients for visits and assist providers during examinations.
• Assists with basic diagnostic procedures and performs specimen collection as required.
• Documents patient care given and handles duties such as filing, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
