Job summary

MaineGeneral Health System is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant II for the Winthrop Health Center in Winthrop, ME. This 40-hour daytime role supports patients and providers to keep visits running smoothly, with no nights or rotating shifts.

Under supervision of medical staff, you’ll handle clinical tasks, patient prep, basic procedures, and administrative duties, contributing to a patient-centered, collaborative environment that emphasizes quality care and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Previous work experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Certified by an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Possession of an associate degree in Medical Assisting from an accredited school.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting statistics and prepares patient for visit and medical staff
• Prepare patients for visits and assist providers during examinations
• Assist with basic diagnostic procedures and performs specimen collection as required
• Communicates observed changes in patient condition to medical staff for assessment
• Documents patient care given
• Performs duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, scribing, data entry, prior authorization, and patient registration
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting
• Maintains examination areas

Education

Associate degree in Medical Assisting from an accredited school
