Job description

We Are Hiring

• Department: Heart Care
• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
• Facility: Ascension Medical Group - Clinic
• Location: Carmel, IN

What You Will Do

Assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the supervision of a provider (Physician or Advanced Practice Provider).

1. Assist with treatments ordered by the provider, under supervision.
2. Perform select clinical duties.
3. Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information in patients' charts.
4. Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations.
5. Handle basic clerical duties such as answering phones, maintaining records, and filing.
6. Manage supplies, including ordering and stocking.
7. Maintain a clean and organized environment.
8. Document provider-patient encounters as needed.
9. Record diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions.
10. Transcribe patient orders for tests, medications, etc.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider certification within 1 month (30 days) of hire or transfer; accepted from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Medical Assistant certification or registration within 3 months (90 days) of hire or transfer.

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent, or 1 year of relevant experience.
• Note: Professional licensure or certification can substitute for education or experience if applicable.

Additional Preferences

Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program; Medical Assistant Certification; Back-office experience preferred but not required.
