Job summary

Great River Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to provide front- and back-office support. The role involves direct patient care under physician direction, room preparation, vital signs, specimen collection, and routine lab work.

Scheduled hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Candidates should have CMA certification, a graduate of an accredited program, and 1–3 years in a medical office. Excellent organization and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant required and graduate of an accredited program.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years' experience in a medical office preferred.
• BLS/CPR/AHA within 60 days required.
• Iowa Mandatory Reporter for child and dependent adult abuse within stated timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate information to visitors and callers.
• Pre-certify with insurance companies and file records.
• Schedule appointments and maintain medical records.
• Take and record vital signs and assist with patient examinations.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist physicians or PAs.
• Collect specimens and perform routine laboratory tests.
• Administer medications under physician direction.
• Inventory and order medical supplies and equipment.
