Job summary

Novant Health’s Pinnacle Orthopedics Salisbury location is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant. The CMA will assist providers and document preliminary exams, including vital signs, to ensure safe, quality care for the patient population.

The role includes chart reviews, patient interviews, and administering medications as ordered by clinicians. The ideal candidate has CMA certification or the ability to obtain within 6 months, prior medical office experience, and a valid state driver’s license

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current CMA/CCMA/RMA certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA, or CCMA.
• Current State Driver's License (Palliative Care Only) required.
• Previous work in a medical office preferred.
• Ability to successfully complete skills validation and competency testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document preliminary patient assessments (height, weight, pulse, BP, temperature).
• Review and prepare patient charts for accuracy and completeness.
• Interview patients to gather medical history and identify healthcare needs.
• Assist providers with examinations, treatments, procedures, and diagnostic testing.
• Administer medications, immunizations, and injections as ordered.
• Follow HIPAA guidelines and ensure confidentiality of patient results.
• Ensure test results are reported to the clinician and maintain QC documentation.
