Job summary

Texas Health Digestive Specialists in Arlington, TX, is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for a full-time role. The position includes a 40-hour workweek (Mon-Thu 8:00–17:00, Fri 8:00–14:00) with no weekends and a sign-on for eligible new hires.

Requirements include a high school diploma and valid CMA certification; one year CMA experience is highly preferred. ACLS/BCLS certifications are preferred/required as noted, with CT/externship opportunities available during onboarding.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Certified Medical Assistant certification is required.
• ACLS and BCLS knowledge are preferred/required upon hire.
• Externship completion or equivalent clinical training is preferred.
• NCT training may be required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients using CMA processes.
• Performs patient check out, surgery scheduling and post-operative calls as primary duties.
• Communicates results and care plans to patients by phone or mail as directed by physician.
• Ensures patient safety and privacy of health information.
• May assist in front office operations as needed.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by practice manager or healthcare provider(s).

Work hours:

Full Time, 40 hours weekly; Monday - Thursday (8:00 am-5:00 pm) and Fridays from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm

Here’s What You Need

• High School Diploma (REQUIRED
• One year of experience as a CMA (HIGHLY PREFERRED)
• Valid Certification as a Medical Assistant (REQUIRED)
• Successful completion of THPG Clinical Training (CT) educational program with demonstrated competency in required skills - within 90 days of job entry (REQUIRED)
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support upon hire (PREFERRED)
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support Exception Quarterly - 90 days upon hire (REQUIRED)
• Willing to consider a New CMA that has completed an Externship
• NCT - Non-certified Radiologic Technician training may be required upon hire (PREFERRED)

What You Will Do

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Certified Medical Assistant Process
• Conducts patient check out, surgery scheduling and post operative calls as primary function of position
• Communicates with patient regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by physician
• Provides for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights
• May work in the front office as needed
• May perform other duties as assigned by practice manager, more senior staff, or as requested by healthcare provider(s)
