Job summary

Texas Health Physicians Group in Texas seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to float among multiple clinic locations, handling CMA duties and front-desk tasks as needed. A sign-on bonus is available for eligible new hires.

Requirements include a high school diploma, CMA certification on hire, and BCLS; ACLS is preferred. Travel between Fort Worth and Arlington clinics is expected as part of the float role.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (REQUIRED)
  • 1 year Medical Assistant experience within the last three years (REQUIRED)
  • CMA - Certified Medical Assistant upon hire (REQUIRED)
  • Two years of CMA experience (STRONGLY PREFERRED)
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish (PREFERRED)
  • Successful completion of THPG Clinical Training (CT) program within 90 days (REQUIRED)
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support (REQUIRED)
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support upon hire (PREFERRED)

Responsibilities

  • Performs general patient care following established standards and procedures
  • Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider
  • Obtains and records vital signs
  • Administers medications and/or vaccines
  • May work in the front office as needed and perform other duties as assigned

Work hours: Full Time (40 Hour) Day Shift; Monday through Friday (7:00A-5:00P); schedule varies based on individual clinic hours/needs

Here’s What You Need
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (REQUIRED)

  • Successful completion of THPG Clinical Training (CT) educational program with demonstrated competency in required skills - within 90 days of job entry (REQUIRED)
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support Exception Quarterly 90 days upon hire (REQUIRED)
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support upon hire (PREFERRED)
Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to perform EKGs, draw blood, and administer injections as needed by assigned clinic
  • Ability to effectively communicate to staff and patients
  • Demonstrated knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures
  • Thorough knowledge of the meaning and use of medical terminology and abbreviations
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and composure with the ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations
What You Will Do
  • Performs general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
  • Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider.
  • Obtains and records vital signs including, but not limited to: blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.
  • Administers ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration.
  • May work in the front office as needed, as well as perform other duties as assigned by practice manager, more senior staff, or as requested by healthcare provider(s).
