Prisma Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support Center Family Medicine/Woodward, and the Endocrinology practice operations. The role involves direct patient care, administrative tasks, and collaboration with physicians and nurses.

You will prepare patients for visit, assist with examinations, manage clerical duties, and help ensure smooth daily operations. Prior experience is not required, but certification and accredited training are preferred.

Competenze

• Completion of an accredited medical assistant program or recognized equivalent.
• Certification as CMA (AAMA) or equivalent.
• No prior experience required.
• Basic life support may be preferred.

Mansioni

• Perform assigned patient care and related administrative duties under direct supervision of a licensed physician, APRN, or PA.
• Carry out clinical, technical, administrative, and clerical duties including point of care testing and reporting critical lab values to the physician.
• Prepare patients for examination and treatment by obtaining and recording chief complaints, medications, vital signs, pain screening, and allergies.
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms, maintain supplies and equipment, and clean/sterilize instruments as needed.
• Assist physicians with examinations, tests, procedures, and office-based surgery; apply splints, casts, dressings, and remove sutures competently.
• Administer medications and immunizations as ordered, after demonstrating competency and passing medication administration tests.
• Handle clinically related telephone calls after consulting with physician or registered nurse.
• Provide patient education and printed information on diagnosis, self-care, health promotion, disease prevention, and community healthcare resources as requested by the physician.
• Document patient data and care in medical records.
• Complete medical insurance and related forms for physician review; perform patient registration, scheduling, billing, pre-authorization, and other office duties.
• Schedule tests and treatments as ordered by the physician.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
