Job summary

Optum in New Jersey is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical operations and patient flow at multiple sites. You will collect vital signs, prepare exam rooms, assist with procedures, and maintain patient records in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Basic computer and word-processing skills are required.
• Preferred: Medical Assistant Degree / Diploma and 1+ years experience.
• Knowledge of Epic EMR software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the patient for the Medical Provider's examination by obtaining vital signs and patient history.
• Prepares and maintains the examination and treatment areas.
• Prepares the patient for and assists with the examinations, procedures and treatments.
• Maintains medication and immunization records.
• Performs sterilization techniques and inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Understands proper function and care of special equipment.
• Performs routine maintenance and calibration of administrative and clinical equipment.
• Administers vaccines and other injections where applicable.
• Organizes and maintains medical records.
• Cooperates with other RMG employees to achieve team goals.
• Follow-up with patients for referrals and appointments as requested.
