Job summary

CHAS Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to float among Southgate Clinic in Spokane, WA. This full-time role includes a $5,000 bonus in your first year and robust benefits.

The position requires WA MA-Certification or eligible; duties include patient check-in, phlebotomy, injections, and education. You'll support providers, manage referrals, and uphold safety while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Completion of medical assistant training through WA-approved program or ABHES/CAAHEP-accredited college.
• Certification through AAMA, NHA or NCCT within 120 days of hire.
• WA Medical Assistant – Certified credential required.
• Community health clinic experience preferred.
• Experience with EHR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and escorts to exam room; informs patient of delays.
• Prepares patients for provider and maintains efficient flow.
• Performs phlebotomy and lab procedures as directed.
• Administers injections and immunizations.
• Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for patients.
• Cleans, prepares, and sterilizes instruments.
• Assists provider with procedures and patient education.
• Manages prescription refills under provider direction.
• Handles referrals and required documentation.
• Observes safety protocols and PPE; handles sharps and pathogens.
• Answers phones, schedules patients, supports care team.
• Other duties including CHAS Health mission support.
