Job summary

AdventHealth in Woodridge, IL is seeking a Medical Assistant to float between primary care and specialty clinics. You will interview patients, record vital signs, document in charts, and assist with procedures under supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma and BLS/ CMA-type credentials, with a comprehensive benefits package and a first-year sign-on bonus. This is a full-time, day-shift position with clinic hours.

Qualifications

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts.
• Assists with treatments ordered by the provider under supervision.
• Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations.
• Performs basic clerical duties, including answering phones, maintaining records, and filing.
• Orders and stocks supplies, ensuring a clean and orderly environment.
• Documents provider encounters with patients, including diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions.
• Transcribes patient orders for laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.
• Provides patient education and explanations of risks and benefits.
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals to perform procedures and treatments.
• Maintains accurate and thorough documentation of all patient interactions and medical procedures.
• Ensures compliance with clinical policies and procedures.

Float between Primary Care and Specialty Clinics

Clinic Hours: Monday-Friday 7a-7p, Saturday 7a-1p, Scheduled based on clinic need

• Performs basic clerical duties, including answering phones, maintaining records, and filing.

Education:

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience:

• 1+ years of experience as medical assistant in primary care and/or specialty clinic [Preferred]
• Customer service experience in medical office [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• American Association Medical Assistants (CMA) [Required] OR
• Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) [Required] OR
• Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) [Required] OR
• National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) [Required] OR
• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) [Required] OR
• Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) [Required]
