Job summary

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth in Chicago seeks a Medical Assistant to support patient intake, screenings, and testing with attention to detail and patient comfort.

You will document results, manage supplies, and assist with minor procedures while ensuring compliance and accurate information flow.

Qualifications

  • High School Grad or Equiv (Required).
  • CPR/BLS certification required.
  • Multiple medical assistant certifications listed in the posting.
  • 1+ year of related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient intake, history, vitals, and medication reconciliation.
  • Prepare patients and equipment for treatments and testing.
  • Document results in the practice system and ensure compliance.
  • Support routine inventory and equipment maintenance.
  • Assist with minor procedures and educate patients about tests and medications.

Job Description

Up to $3,000 sign-on bonus available for eligible applicants Primary Address: 6084 S Archer Ave, 2nd Floor, Chicago IL 60638

Schedule: Monday/Tuesday/Thursday 8:30am-5:30pm, Wednesday 9am-4pm, Friday 8:45am-5pm, Saturday 6:45a-12:45p (1-2 per month and off on previous Wednesday when working Saturday)

Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Travels as needed to fulfill staffing needs and support clinic operations. Stays up to date and familiar with all policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with organizational standards. Maintains education requirements for the position and demonstrates competency through annual clinical competencies and written tests. Ensures efficient office flow by preparing patients and equipment for treatment, initiating testing, and documenting results in the practice’s designated system. Maintains OSHA regulatory enforcement and other office compliance, following safety processes and policies. Provides whole care to patients during office visits, including intake, test results, screenings, labs, medication administration, and closure of care gaps. Maintains confidentiality of employees’ and patients’ administrative and medical information. Supports staff teamwork by assisting patients, visitors, and co-workers when necessary. Performs clinical intake according to policy and procedures, including screenings, history taking, vital signs, and medication reconciliation. Assists with minor procedures associated with specialty and ensures accurate documentation at the time of service or results. Educates patients regarding tests, medications, and diet, providing clear and accurate instructions. Monitors and manages inventory, ensuring adequate supplies and functioning medical equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing and typing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively to carry out job requirements [Required]
  • Experience with computers required [Required]
  • Bilingual English/Spanish [Preferred]

Pay Range
