Job summary

AdventHealth Manchester in Kentucky is seeking a Medical Assistant to interview patients, record vital signs, and assist with treatments under supervision. You will prepare exam rooms, perform clerical duties, and maintain clean, organized environments while documenting encounters and ensuring policy compliance.

The role requires a High School diploma and CMA/BLS certifications; preferred are prior medical office customer service experience.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
• Licenses/certifications listed: BLS, CMA, CMAC, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA
• Medical office customer service experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts.
• Assists with treatments ordered by the provider under supervision.
• Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations.
• Performs basic clerical duties, including answering phones, maintaining records, and filing.
• Orders and stocks supplies, ensuring a clean and orderly environment.
• Documents provider encounters with patients, including diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions.
• Transcribes patient orders for laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.
• Provides patient education and explanations of risks and benefits.
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals to perform procedures and treatments.
• Maintains accurate and thorough documentation of all patient interactions and medical procedures.
• Ensures compliance with clinical policies and procedures.
