Job summary

The NC Department of Adult Correction is seeking a Health Care Technician II (S) to provide direct patient care within a structured healthcare setting across statewide locations. You will administer medications, transcribe orders, document care, monitor effects, and reinforce education alongside licensed nurses and physicians.

This is a temporary 11-month role with a 31-day break, renewable upon successful completion.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED plus one year of related work experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Completion and certification of a CMA or RMA program is required.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments accurately and efficiently.
• Transcribe orders, manage medications and supplies.
• Document medication administration and treatments.
• Monitor medication effectiveness and report side effects.
• Reinforce patient education from nurses and physicians.
• Support additional nursing functions within licensure.
