The South Bend Clinic is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for the Family Medicine department in South Bend, IN. This role supports the clinical team with front-to-back office flow and essential patient care activities.

You will perform clinical procedures, documentation, and workflow management while maintaining HIPAA compliance and a patient-centric approach in a busy clinic setting.

Formación

• Able to work with a diverse patient base of all ages.
• Assist with clinical procedures specific to department.
• Perform basic back-office skills including medication administration, injections, bandaging, height, weight, and BP.
• Anticipate physician needs and require minimal supervision.

Responsabilidades

• Provides ongoing triage and management of office flow to meet patients' medical and service needs.
• Performs the technical component of the department’s clinical procedures competently.
• Documentation of all patient care is thorough, objective, concise, and follows legal guidelines.
• Communication of all patient care is thorough, objective, concise, and follows legal guidelines.
• Receives patients professionally in waiting area and rooms them per protocol.
• Maintains accurate/current logs for equipment (refrigerator temp, autoclave, eyewash, crash cart).
• Verifies patient insurance coverage for pre-certification, referrals and/or authorizations in Epic.
• Applies knowledge of general insurance guidelines to direct patient care.
• Responds appropriately to emergency situations.
• Cross-trains in other positions as determined by manager.
• Demonstrates proficiency with computer systems to perform job functions.
• Adheres to The South Bend Clinic Service Standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned; adheres to HIPAA.
