Job summary

LifePoint Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support our general surgery team. You will work under supervision to perform patient assessments, basic diagnostics, specimen collection, and documentation, while maintaining exam areas and supplies.

The role includes administrative tasks such as scheduling, data entry, and patient registration. Certification as CCMA/CMA/RMA and BLS within 60 days of hire are required; a high school diploma or equivalent or graduation from an accredited medical

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; graduate of accredited medical assisting program or equivalent.
• Certification: CCMA, CMA or RMA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient assessments and treatments under supervision of physician or nurse.
• Perform basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection; monitor and report changes in patient condition; document care.
• Maintain equipment and medical supplies; reorder, stock, clean, troubleshoot; maintain exam areas.
• Perform administrative duties including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
