Job description

Job Title: Medical Assistant Lead

Assist physicians with various aspects of patient care, including clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks, ensuring patient satisfaction. Serve as a lead for the team regarding day-to-day workflow issues and office procedures.

Work Schedule:
  • Day shifts (4x/wk): 8:00 am - 4:30 pm & 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
  • Evening shift (1x/wk): 10:30 am - 7:00 pm
  • Saturday AM Rotation: 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
Responsibilities:
  • Attend routine staff meetings to communicate procedural changes aimed at improving service quality and patient safety.
  • Participate in implementing department goals, processes, and procedures; assist with the orientation of new staff members.
  • Relay instructions and educational information to patients as directed by providers.
  • Document patient information in medical records, adhering to confidentiality policies and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the manager to identify opportunities for improvement in clinical and non-clinical functions, including infection control procedures.
  • Serve as an office super user of EPIC Care as assigned.
  • Attend competency training and demonstrate proficiency in practice-specific tasks, including vital signs, medication and vaccine administration, CLIA testing, TB skin testing, wound care, EKG, phlebotomy, and ear irrigation.
  • Handle patient records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
  • Obtain lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, and complete related forms. Schedule appointments, verify insurance coverage, and update patient demographics.
  • Prepare patient rooms, set up instruments and equipment, and assist with examinations.
