Atlantic Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to provide direct and indirect patient care in a clinical setting under the supervision of a physician. The role involves clerical, administrative, and clinical duties to support efficient practice operations and quality patient care.

Responsibilities include taking vitals, preparing exam rooms, assisting with examinations, collecting specimens, and coordinating referrals as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• National Certification CCMA from: NHA, AAMA, NAHP, ARMA, AMT, AMCA, or NCCT.
• Precertification agreement must be signed if expired or receiving certification within 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Handles patient intake, updates medical records, and administers screening tools.
• Records medical information, conducts interviews, takes vital signs, and collects specimens under physician supervision.
• Assists with clinic visits, verifies clinical data, and adheres to quality standards.
• Guides patients through the health care system and helps with appointments.
• Assists with examinations in collaboration with physicians.
• Preps examination rooms and maintains clean patient areas.
• Provides emotional support as outlined in the care plan.
• Assists with referrals to specialists as needed.
