Job summary

Heartland Health Services - Central Illinois in Peoria, IL is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to provide patient care in accordance with our mission and regulatory standards. The CMA will take vitals, assist clinicians during examinations, document in the EHR, review results, manage medications and patient flow, and support quality and safety initiatives across clinics.

Full-time 40 hours/week with benefits starting day one, 10 holidays, 4 weeks PTO, and a 401(k) match up to 4%, with

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited medical assistant certification program.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Proficient computer skills for chart completion.
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient relations.
• BLS certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Take vitals and document patient information and reason for visit.
• Complete appropriate EHR templates and notes.
• Review labs, x-ray results, and recent visits.
• Assist clinician during examinations and procedures.
• Administer medications as ordered per protocol.
• Maintain exam room cleanliness and supplies.
• Support QA and infection control practices.
• Travel to clinic locations as needed.
