Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for the Millburn location in the ACRD department. This CMA role supports providers, enhances patient care, and helps create a welcoming experience for patients and families across our organization.

A typical day includes preparing patients, assisting during examinations, administering injections, collecting specimens, documenting results in the EMR, coordinating patient flow, and educating patients about medications and follow-up care.

Qualifications

• Must hold CMA credential (AAMA, AMCA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, NCMA, or NHA).
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification is required.
• Minimum 6 months CMA clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs and medical histories.
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures and support clinical needs.
• Perform clinical tasks such as injections, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing.
• Accurately document patient information and test results in the EMR.
• Coordinate patient flow by preparing exam rooms and maintaining supplies.
• Provide clear, compassionate education to patients on medications and care plans.
• Schedule appointments and process referrals in collaboration with the care team.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment focused on patient-centered care.
