Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for our Newark location. The role supports providers, enhances patient care, and creates a welcoming experience across our network.

The CMA will perform clinical tasks, document patient information, and help coordinate patient flow in a fast-paced orthopaedics department. A typical day includes vital signs, patient prep, assisting physicians, injections, specimen collection, EMR documentation, and patient education.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential (AAMA, AECA, AMCA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, NCMA, or NHA).
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and documenting histories.
• Assist physicians during exams and procedures.
• Perform clinical tasks such as injections, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing.
