Job summary

PrimaryMD, a concierge primary care practice in New York, seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to support Hudson Yards operations. You will perform blood draws, patient vitals, EKGs, and plan care with a premium service mindset in a high-touch setting.

You’ll own prior authorizations, coordinate referrals, and navigate NYC hospital networks to keep care flowing for our members. This role is full-time, in person, Monday–Friday, reporting to the Clinical Operations Manager.

Qualifications

• Current national MA certification required: CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), or CCMA (NHA).
• 3+ years as a medical assistant in outpatient, primary care, or specialty practice.
• Hands-on phlebotomy with high-volume draw experience.
• Familiarity with NYC hospital systems, imaging centers, and specialists.

Responsibilities

• Phlebotomy - Perform daily blood draws with exceptional technique and a calm, reassuring presence.
• Patient care & visit support - Room patients, take vitals, administer EKGs and point-of-care testing, prep for procedures.
• Prior authorizations & referrals - Own prior auths from submission to approval; coordinate referrals across city centers.
• Navigate the NYC system - Leverage knowledge of Mount Sinai, Lenox Hill, Northwell, NY-Presbyterian networks.
• Keep the clinic ready - inventory, supplies, room turnover, equipment checks.

PrimaryMD is a concierge primary care and longevity practice redefining what medicine feels like. We're hiring a Certified Medical Assistant for our Hudson Yards practice - the clinical hands of our NYC care team.

This is patient-facing, hands-on work for someone who takes real pride in their craft: flawless blood draws, smooth visit flow, prior authorizations that don't stall, and referrals that actually land. Our members pay for a premium experience, and you're a big part of what makes it feel that way.

Location: New York City (Hudson Yards) - full-time, in person, Monday-Friday Reports to: Clinical Operations Manager Compensation: $55,000-$70,000, commensurate with experience

What You'll Do

Phlebotomy - Your Signature Skill Perform daily blood draws with exceptional technique and a calm, reassuring presence. Our members notice the difference between a good stick and a great one - you're the great one. Handle specimen processing, labeling, and lab logistics end to end.

Patient Care & Visit Support Room patients, take vitals, administer EKGs and point-of-care testing, prep for procedures, and keep the clinical day running smoothly for our physicians.

Prior Authorizations & Referrals Own prior auths from submission to approval - imaging, medications, specialist visits. Coordinate referrals with specialist offices and imaging centers across the city and follow through until the patient is seen.

Navigate the NYC System Use your working knowledge of New York's hospital systems (Mount Sinai, Lenox Hill / Northwell, NewYork-Presbyterian / Weill Cornell), imaging centers, and pharmacies to keep care moving - calling, faxing, portal-chasing, and following up so patients never have to.

Keep the Clinic Ready Inventory, supplies, exam room turnover, equipment checks, and the operational details that make a clinical space feel effortless.

What We're Looking For

Certification & Experience

• Current national MA certification required: CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), or CCMA (NHA).
• Expert phlebotomist - 2+ years of regular, high-volume draw experience. You'll demonstrate your technique during the interview process. Separate phlebotomy certification (CPT) a plus.
• 3+ years as a medical assistant in outpatient, primary care, or specialty practice.
• Hands-on prior authorization experience - you've worked insurer portals, peer-to-peer queues, and know how to get to "approved."
• Familiarity with NYC hospital systems, imaging centers, and specialist landscape strongly preferred.
• EKG, point-of-care testing, and EMR proficiency.
