At Stony Point ENT Clinic, we care for patients of all ages, from newborns to geriatrics, addressing issues related to ears, nose, and throat, including hearing, sinus, voice, and swallowing problems. Our clinic specializes in procedures such as sinus and tracheal endoscopy and other ear-related treatments. Due to the diverse age groups we serve, team members must have flexible communication skills.

Our operating hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm. Staff hours vary, and team members enjoy free onsite parking at our Stony Point campus.

Position: Certified Medical Assistant

The Certified Medical Assistant provides direct, age-specific care to patients based on medical orders and care plans under the physician's supervision.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire

• Current Medical Assistant Certification from a recognized national professional association such as the American Association of Medical Assistants, American Medical Technologists, National Association of Healthcare Professions, American Registry of Medical Assistants, or the National Healthcare Association.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Continued Employment

• Same as above.

Experience Requirements

• One year of medical assistant experience within the last three years if not a graduate of a medical assistant program.
• No experience required if a graduate of a medical assistant program.
• Experience with personal computers and software applications, including Microsoft Office and email.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Experience

• Two to three years as a Certified Medical Assistant.
• Experience in an academic healthcare setting.

Education/Training

• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program (e.g., CAAHEP or ABHES).

Independent Actions

Functions under supervision of licensed practitioners, managers, or RNs, providing patient care, emotional support, and problem-solving in accordance with policies. May require prior approval for schedule changes, legal issues, or care deviations. Duties may include handling medications and supplies.

Other Requirements

• Work shifts include days, weekends, and holidays, with schedules set by the Nurse/Practice Manager and subject to change.
• Serves all age groups.
• Physical demands include lifting 20-50 lbs, standing, sitting, bending, walking, climbing, and reaching.
• Requires mental acuity, reasoning, problem-solving, hearing, speech, reading, and adaptability to a fast-paced environment.
