Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - Pediatric Pulmonology Clinic

Join our team as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at Ascension in the Pediatric Pulmonology Clinic.

Position Details

• Schedule: 8-hour day shift, Monday through Friday, with extended hours on Monday
• Location: 1301 Barbara Jordan Blvd, Austin, TX 78723 (Travel to South Austin & Buda, TX)

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient examinations and treatments under provider supervision
• Perform clinical duties such as interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and preparing treatment rooms
• Handle clerical tasks including answering phones, maintaining records, and filing
• Manage supplies and maintain a clean environment
• Document provider-patient encounters, including diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions

Minimum Requirements

• BLS certification obtained within 1 month of hire (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
• One or more of the following certifications obtained within 6 months of hire:
  • Medical Assistant credential from NHA, NCCT, AAMA, or AMT (certifications from AMCA also accepted)
• High school diploma or equivalent, or 1 year of relevant experience
