Job summary

Jax Spine and Pain Center in Florida is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support the back office and ensure continuity of care through accurate documentation and collaborative teamwork. You will prepare the clinical environment, manage patient interactions, and assist providers with assessments and procedures.

The ideal candidate has CMA certification, a solid grasp of medical terminology, and strong organizational and communication skills to thrive in a busy spine and pain management

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED required.
• One or more years of experience as a medical assistant, CMA preferred.
• In lieu of experience, graduating from an accredited MA program is acceptable.
• Able to measure and record vital signs, manually and electronically.
• Pain management office experience is a plus.
• Basic computer knowledge required. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Able to multitask efficiently in busy and/or stressful situations.
• Able to read, analyze, interpret, and write medical records and documentation.
• Able to record patient information with medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for patient interactions by reviewing charts, schedules, and records.
• Generate forms for patient education, informed consent, documentation, referrals, prescriptions, and other documents.
• Obtain medical records, lab results, and other documents as indicated.
• Maintain a therapeutic, sanitary environment with stocked supplies and functional equipment.
• Ensure medication, supplies, and personnel are available for scheduled interactions.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless patient experience.
• Communicate with physicians, PAs, and other care providers.
• Provide direct patient care as assigned, including patient education and documenting progress.
