Medical Assistants work with the clinical team to interview consumers, measure vital signs, draw blood for testing, and perform basic clinical functions to meet medical needs. Responsibilities include recording consumer information into medical charts, monitoring, and administering medications or injections.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Collect blood specimens and prepare them for lab testing.
  • Interview consumers to obtain medical information.
  • Measure vital signs such as pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.
  • Record medical history, vital statistics, and test results into medical records.
  • Communicate relevant medical information to staff as part of the treatment team.
  • Coordinate medical care and intervention with staff and psychiatrists.
  • Maintain a trauma-informed environment of wellbeing.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

LPN:

  • Provide psychological evaluations, problem identification, and crisis interventions.
  • Assist with medical case management as needed.
  • Support consumers' psychological, social development, and rehabilitation.
  • Coordinate medical care and intervention with staff and psychiatrists.
  • Draw blood for lab work.
  • Monitor vital signs.
  • Administer intramuscular medications.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records per WellPower standards.
  • Participate in team meetings, in-services, and supervisory sessions.
  • Maintain a trauma-informed environment of wellbeing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing, Lead Nurse, and Program Manager.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Education: Completion of an educational program to obtain a Medical Assistant diploma. Certification is required.

Experience: One year in a medical/clinic environment. Experience in community mental health or mental health field is strongly preferred.
