The Palm Beach Health Network Physician Group (PBHN), also known as Tenet Florida Physician Services (TFPS), is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support physicians and ensure smooth daily operations within their office in Palm Beach County. The role includes triage, vital signs, and patient education under supervision.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program or 3 years of relevant experience, and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program OR three years of relevant work experience in lieu of completion of an accredited program.
• Medical Assistant Certification required through one of the listed bodies; willingness to obtain certification within 90 days.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
• Preferred: At least one year of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician with daily operations of the physician’s office.
• Maintain efficient patient flow and assist with patient care, exams, procedures and education under physician direction.
• Perform triage and monitor and record vitals of all visiting patients.
• Perform EKG and Phlebotomy, as applicable.
• Ensure medical documentation of office visits.
• Maintain professional and courteous contacts with patients and staff.

Job Summary

Certified Medical Assistant to assist physician with the daily operations of the physician’s office. Maintains efficient patient flow and assists with patient care, i.e. exams, procedures and patient education under the direction and supervision of a physician. Performs triage, monitors and records vitals of all visiting patients. Ensures medical documentation of office visits. Assist with Office and scheduling coordinator in their absence (if necessary).

• Ensure that all contacts with patients, the public, physicians and other personnel are carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner

Qualifications

Education

Required: High school diploma or GED

Required: Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program OR three years of relevant work experience in lieu of completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program

Certification

Required: Medical Assistant Certification required through one of the following; National Healthcare Association (NHA), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Registered Medical Assistant by the American Medical Technologist (AMT), National Center for Competency Training (NCCT), the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA), or Healthcare Professional Registry of the US (HPRUS) (Will allow 90 days to obtain certification)

Required: Current Basic Life Support (BLS)

Experience

Required: Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited school OR three years of relevant work experience in a healthcare setting in lieu of Medical Assistant diploma

Preferred: At least one year of relevant work experience
