Great River Health in Mount Pleasant, IA is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support patient care and administrative duties in a busy clinic. The role involves pre-certifications with insurance, record-keeping in the EMR system, specimen processing, patient preparation for exams, and assisting providers with procedures.

The position requires CMA credential, and a background in a medical office is preferred.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant is required.
• 1-3 years’ experience in a medical office is preferred.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) & First Aid per American Heart Association within 60 days required.
• Child Abuse Iowa Mandatory Reporter within 180 days required.
• Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter within 180 days required.
• H.S. Diploma or GED required.

Responsabilités

• Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
• Change dressings on wounds.
• Collect blood, tissue or other specimens and prepare them for testing.
• Explain treatment procedures, medications and physician instructions to patients.
• Schedule appointments and manage medical records.
• Perform routine laboratory tests and assist in patient examinations.
